Wireless Systems

This module deals with the analysis and design of wireless communication systems. The emphasis is on the design of transmitters and receivers , but the radio path and link budget will also be covered.

N.B Required Good understanding of electromagnetic waves, reasonable knowledge of circuit theory and analogue electronic circuits. Some knowledge of communication theory, modulation and signal processing.

On completion of this module, learners should be able to:

1. analyse a given radio-based system or sub-system, solve related problems and perform the necessary calculations;

2. discuss the issues involved in the design of such systems and sub-systems;

3. design a system or sub-system to solve a given problem and compare alternative design solutions;

4. conduct experimental work safely and effectively
