IoT enabled AgriFood Prod

This module examines the principles and theories that underpin the concept of Internet of Things (IoT) enabled Agri-Food Production. It will focus on IoT Platforms, sensors and their applications to agriculture, Proximal Sensing, IoT decision support and Smart Applications. It is delivered mainly online with exception of in person exam at the end of the term. One additional attendance will be required to collect the technical toolkit

IoT enabled AgriFood Prod

Dr Joseph Sweeney, Lecturer, MSc Digital Technology for Sustainable Agriculture gives insights to the module he teaches in UCD.
IoT sensors are relevant to sustainable food production . The module focuses on aspects like IoT sensors in the field, how the IoT data is processed at the cloud level. To get understanding of how IoT sensors work, learners are taught how to operate, create capture and process data in the cloud but also make decision that can be relayed back to the farm.
One of the main area  on this module is the deployment and use of IoT sensors at the field level.

Most modules require a 2.2 degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience. Should you have any queries regarding your eligibility, please contact us at info@advancecentre.ie
