Industrial Networking introduces the student to the concept of integrating factory floor industrial networks and process plant floor control networks with company enterprise networks.

NFQ level 7 in Engineering or related discipline. Applicants with other qualifications and/or with relevant experience may also be considered through ATU Sligo’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

 
1.Demonstrate a basic knowledge of industrial data networks
 
2.Use network simulator software to build a virtual Industrial Network
 
3.Demonstrate the ability to build a TCP/IP based network to a specified topology design using network simulator software
 
4.Demonstrate the ability to build a subnetted network infrastructure using router configuration techniques
 
5.Demonstrate an understanding of the characteristics and challenges of integrating fieldbus and enterprise networks in the same network domain
