Data Visualisation

In this microcredential, the learner will investigate a variety of visualisation concepts and tools for analysing data sets. The student will gain an understanding of the core skills in data visualisation and the tools available. The will gain knowledge in how to select appropriate visualisation methods based on the data and target audience and create visualisations using appropriate software packages. The use and creation of dashboards will also be explored.

Applicants will be expected to hold a Level 5 National / Higher Certificate in Business, Science, Engineering or equivalent. Applicants with other qualifications and/or with relevant experience may also be considered through ATU’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

1.Explain core skills for data Visualisation and tools available for visualisation
2.Select the appropriate data visualisation methods based on the type of data and target audience.
3.Create visualisations using various software packages
4.Create compelling and effective dashboards using an appropriate collection of related visualisations.
5.Evaluate data visualisations and outline issues and techniques applying visualisations in a health domain
