The aim of this microcredential is to provide the student with an introduction to various healthcare system characteristics, functionality, performance and associated societal outcomes.

Applicants will be expected to hold a Level 5 National / Higher Certificate in Business, Science, Engineering or equivalent. Applicants with other qualifications and/or with relevant experience may also be considered through ATU’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process

On completion of this module the learner will/should be able to;

 
1.To identify the basic components of the health care delivery system and how these vary across countries
 
2.To become familiar with common methods of payment for healthcare services and how these relate to performance
 
3.To become familiar with emerging issues including technology, epidemiology, bioethics and socioeconomics

on healthcare delivery systems

4.To understand components and associated outcomes from healthcare delivery systems
