Computational Network Analysis and Modelling

This module will focus on modern computational techniques to extract information from large-scale networks. The module will have a practical focus, but will be grounded by network models developed in the last decade and a half.

Most modules require a 2.2 degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience. Should you have any queries regarding your eligibility, please contact us at info@advancecentre.ie

N.B Learners taking this module should be experienced programmers. Two or more years of industrial/commercial experience in software development requiered.

On successful completion of this module, a learner should be able to:

1. Learn how to characterise a network according to a number of measures.
2. Compute network measures, with the assistance of appropriate computational tools.
3. Carry out steps to analyse network data, from processing of raw data to extraction of network structure.
4. Apply network analysis in an application such as recommendation, information diffusion etc.
