The Data in Context modules provide an introduction and key skills for non-IT graduates in digital methods and data usage. They also develop advanced competence in the ethical, social and cultural aspects of data interpretation and use for IT professionals.
The Professional Certificate in Digital Policy is designed to prepare graduates for careers in evaluating, implementing, and studying core topical, theoretical, and methodological issues that arise in digital policy today
This unique micro-credential integrates social and ethical perspectives to explore foundational issues in Artificial Intelligence (AI). It provides practical skills in analysing ethical frameworks, bias, privacy, and AI safety. It also examines AI’s influence on society, including the future of work and AI’s effect on the environment. Learners will also gain practical expertise in defining the scope of audit efforts, including determining the objective for assessment and specifying which aspects of the AI system will be scrutinised. It adopts multidisciplinary perspectives from various disciplines.
Offers a unique opportunity for learners to enhance their digital competence and build their capacity to interpret data. It will familiarize them with basic machine reading techniques in subject areas that do not traditionally offer technical expertise. It will also enhance the career prospects of learners across a broad range of disciplines by equipping them with transferable digital skills and the capacity to work with data relevant to their academic discipline and beyond.
