Listen to professor Gerardine Meaney about UCD Professional Certificate in Digital Methods. This course is designed to enable learners to become creative, critical and well informed producers of digital content as opposed to passive consumers, whether of content or online platforms and resources. It is a bridge into creative industries and the cultural and heritage sectors which increasingly need a workforce able not just to create content but also to evaluate tools, platforms and best practice in a rapidly evolving online environment.
In an age where online content is subject to unprecedented manipulation and suspicion, the course will help you develop awareness of critical and ethical standards for the accumulation, management, and use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Most modules require a 2.2 degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience. Offered to graduates from non STEM subjects.

On successful completion of this module learners should be able to:
1.Enhanced digital competence, including introductions to digital storytelling (blogging, podcasting)
2.Understand and produce basic data visualisations, basic machine learning and digital tools.
3.Practically apply knowledge gained during the course to complete digital assignments and to create a digital portfolio
4.Recognize and use appropriate copyright citation and licensing for online content
5.Learn digital communication strategies appropriate to a given work environment, and the ability to communicate research effectively.
6.Strengthen skills in online research, study and writing.
