Professional Diploma in Quantum Engineering

This programme can be completed over one or two years (up to four trimesters). All students must take module Quantum Computing. Students are encouraged to take a minimum of one module per trimester to ensure a balanced workload across the two-year registration period.

Applicants should hold a BE degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Applicants are required to meet the minimum English language requirements in UCD.

Most modules require a 2.2 degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.

On successful completion of this programme a learner should:

1. Learn the current state of the art in quantum technology and quantum computing, familiarity with available quantum computers

2. Understand and be able to design, model and send for execution simple quantum circuits and quantum systems

3. Understand the physics and mathematical background behind quantum technology and quantum computing

4. Have ability to communicate effectively in the field of electronic design and to learn independently.
